The Divinity Church, located at 227 Tremont Ave.(Near Sanford St) East Orange, NJ, is all about teaching and living the Word of God.  We are devoted to working with the entire family including single parents (male or female), children of all ages. We have a strong women's and men's ministry that teaches how to  apply God's word in daily living. The Lord has blessed our church to train a number of Evangelists (Male & Female who are devoted  to administering God's Word to the believer in a practical way.

Weekly activities include, Bible studies Mon. & Weds 6:30 - 8PM and Bible Institute Studies Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:50PM - 8:55PM.

Nursing Home & Hospital Visits are conducted regularly by our Missionary Ministry (Youth & Adults).

Sunday Activities Include: 

Early Worship @ 7:25AM

Bible Study @ 9:25AM

Regular Worship @ 10:25AM Holy Communion observed every First Sunday in both services.

The Divinity Missionary Baptist Church was organized by Dr. Byron E. Lennon, Sr. with approximately 20 members present at that meeting in 1986. The first service was conducted in a small classroom at a community activities building. On that Sunday 40 members joined the church and it has grown to more than 500 since that time.

In 1992, the church purchased its building with Tithes (no fundraisers) and finalized the payments five years ahead of schedule (with Tithes). Presently, we are expanding our edifice to accomodate more parishioners.

The church family as usual encountered a number of challenges, but the Lord has continued to grant victory in the midst of every situation.

For at least five years, the church's ministry expanded to conducting special prayer & healing services as well as spreading the word of God through the cable networks (Cablevision and Comcast) third Saturdays @ 6:30PM and 7:30PM respectively.
